Our geotextile was laid over the base course of the running track
During the construction of the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo, our MacTex® H geotextile was laid over the base course of the entire 400m long running track for stabilization and separation of the materials.
Godswill Akpabio International Stadium is an ultra-modern multi-purpose stadium in Uyo, the capital of Akwa Ibom. The stadium, which is modelled after the Allianz Arena in Germany, is a 30,000 seater stadium built by Julius Berger from 2012 – 2014.
During the construction of the running track, after site clearing and earth works had been done, our MacTex® H geotextile was used to help stabilize the base course and prevent the mixing of materials. The geotextile was then overlaid with asphalt and turf.
MacTex® H is a high quality non-woven geotextile manufactured from virgin high tenacity polypropylene fibres assembled by a needlepunched treatment and thermocalendered. The product is suitable for all general geotextile applications including filtration and separation.
The 8-lane 400m standard running track has proven to be a huge success as numerous athletic, cultural, social and religious events have taken place on it, proving the effectiveness of our solution.
