    Seasonal flooding along the Sungai Muda is one of the main concerns by Drainage and Irrigation Department (DID) Malaysia. Thus, using the allocation under 8th Malaysia Plan, DID has started the Flood Mitigation Project for Sungai Muda to overcome the flood problem.<\/p>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n

    Reno Mattress was chosen due to its flexibility and ease of construction. It is used mainly to prevent the erosion of the riverbank and to improve the stability of the riverbank. Apart from that, a soil-bioengineering concept was incorporated in the design where the Reno Mattress is vegetated to provide an environmental friendly look to the riverbank. As on October 2003, a total of 60,000 m2 of Reno Mattress has been laid for this project. Since the project is still ongoing, more Reno Mattress are expected to be laid due to its excellence performance so far.<\/p>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>
