Our polymer coated gabions and MacTex® woven and non-woven geotextiles were chosen to increase the service life of the new road
We recently supplied polymer coated gabions and our MacTex® woven and non-woven geotextiles for a new road upgrade scheme in Kluang, Johor. The local Authority decided to widen Jalan Haji Manan road as well as build a new road to ease traffic congestions in the area. Our polymer coated and heavily galvanized gabions were used as an embankment and toe protection along the new road. The project is currently ongoing and should be completed in two years’ time.
Kluang is a town in the centre of the Johor State, located within 90 minutes from all major urban areas of Johor. Combined with Batu Pahat, Kluang encompasses central Johor with a catchment area of over 700,000 people. Jalan Haji Manan is one of the main roads in Kluang and the number of its users has exceptionally increased throughout the years, leading to traffic issues. This left the local authority with no choice but to upgrade the existing road and build an alternative route to reduce traffic congestions.
We were selected to be a part of this prestige project as main supplier of polymer coated gabions and MacTex® geotextiles for the designated road, respectively to build an embankment and to provide ground stabilization. Gabions were installed alongside the road as toe protection and to create a 3m high retaining wall. MacTex® woven and non-woven geotextiles were used as a separator to prevent the loss of fines and for ground improvement purposes.
Our gabion baskets are made from high-quality steel wire which is heavily galvanized to provide long-term corrosion protection. Additional Polymer coating was applied on gabions in order to extend their life span in a more aggressive environment.
Our team is providing constant on-site assistance to ensure that our products are properly installed.
