Maccaferri had supplied debris flow barriers at 2 locations of Sungai Ruil, Cameron Highlands.
The volume of retention capacity for the barriers are 318m3 and 226m3, at Zone C1 and C2, respectively.
The channelized barriers had succeeded in retaining debris mud (nearly a foot high) that occurred within 4 months’ after completion of the barriers. Maccaferri’s staffs were at site to inspect its performance.
Maccaferri has a long history in providing solutions to ‘debris flow’ phenomenon.
Maccaferri Debris Flow Barriers are positioned within the anticipated path of the debris flow or shallow landslide, often in natural gullies, channels or chutes on the slope. They are customized to suit the dimensions of the project, the anticipated debris material and the expected volume of the flow.
