Our MacTex® non-woven geotextiles will play an important role in preparing the ground for construction
Geotextiles play an important role not only for improvement of road sub-grades, but also for ground improvement works. Our MacTex® non-woven geotextiles are currently being used for the construction of the new Ministry of Works headquarters in Kedah, Malaysia. The project is expected to be completed within the next 6 months. The local authority said it is impressed with the efficiency of our on-site supervision.
The Ministry of Works has decided to construct the new headquarters of its Kedah Department in Jalan Menanti and we are delighted to be a part of this prestigious project.
Before any construction work can take place, ground improvement work has to be performed on soils with low bearing capacity. Geotextiles play an important role in preventing the natural soils from mixing with and contaminating the higher quality construction aggregates above.
For this purpose we supplied our MacTex® non-woven geotextile. The high tenacity polypropylene fibres play an important role in the filtration of the construction site, which used to be a paddy field, and was therefore subject to a very low bearing capacity.
The local authority was impressed with the efficiency of our on-site supervision service.
