Maccaferri MacTex® W2 non-woven geotextiles will help improve the foundations and subdue an existing soft soil condition
Geotextiles are used in several applications to increase soil stability, to provide erosion control and aid drainage. Our non-woven geotextiles were used for ground treatment and soil stabilization for an upgrading project Phase 1 at the Kampung Jawa National School in Johor.
Ground improvement of soils with low bearing is crucial to reduce differential settlement before any form of construction can take place. Hence, non-woven geotextiles are widely used for paved and unpaved roads for the purpose of filtration and separation where ground conditions have been compromised.
The Kampung Jawa National School which is located at Parit Jawa, Batu Paha was first built in 1936 by the local communities. It was constructed with wooden panels and later refurbished in the late 1960s. The Ministry of Education has decided to retain and upgrade this historic school by constructing several new blocks around the area. The project will include 12 new classrooms.
We were selected to supply our MacTex® W2 to primarily help with separation and filtration to enhance drainage beneath the structures and to offer permeability as well.
MacTex® W2 are high quality non-woven geotextiles manufactured from virgin high tenacity polypropylene fibres assembled by a needle punched treatment only.
Maccaferri’s non-woven geotextiles are made out of virgin high tenacity polypropylene fibres assembled by a needle punching instead of weaving. The project is ongoing and is expected to complete in the 4th quarter of 2018.
