REDEVELOPMENT OF “PINETA” TRAINING CENTER

The municipality wanted to install football turf systems (artificial grass) on 3 out of 4 pitches at Pineta sport center, an 11-a-side, a 7-a-side, a 5-a-side The 11 was an old grass pitch while the surface of the smaller ones was fine gravel/sand. The sub-base has a standard vertical drainage system, the section is 210mm (gravel mix – 3 layers) with microperforated pipes every 7m to catch the water and let it flow to the perimetral drainage and then to the municipal wastewater system Since the chosen infill for the full-size pitch was an organic mix of coconut and cork on a 50mm turf the last component of the system had to be an underlay with both high drainage capacity and sport performance (shock absorption and vertical deformation)
