The World Road Meeting (WRM) is the biggest global platform for road engineers, transport experts and companies engaged in road safety, it is estimated that it will be attended by over 15,000 delegates from all over the world. At Maccaferri, we are proud to be a supporting partner for this influential event. We shall be giving a number of presentations on various application sectors such as rockfall mitigation, basal reinforcement and geosynthetic applications in pavements. We will also be present in the exhibition area with a booth.
The International Road Federation (IRF), a global not-for-profit and non-governmental organization, has been organizing its prestigious World Road Meeting (WRM) once every 4 years for the last 60 years. The event will include a Conference, an Exhibition and an innovation café and intends to be a premier knowledge event for discussing important issues facing the roads, transport and mobility sectors.
The 18th edition of the WRM will take place from November 14th to 17th, 2017 and will be held in New Delhi, India for the very first time. This edition of the WRM runs with the theme of “Safe Roads and Smart Mobility: The Engines of Economic Growth”.
With support from the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH), The World Bank, FICCI, ERF, UNECE, and many other governmental and non-governmental entities, the event is turning out to be the biggest event in the history of the Indian road and highways sector.
At Maccaferri, we have the privilege to be a part of the first ever World Road Meeting in India and we are fully supporting the IRF in the successful organization of the event. We will be contributing to the Conference programme with three presentations:
- “Design and Construction of Rockfall Mitigation Measures along Mumbai Pune Expressway: A case Study” on November 15th, within the Parallel Session V – Innovative Road Infrastructure
- “Innovative and Cost-Effective Method of Road Embankment Foundation Design Using Basal Reinforcement Technique for DUQM Road Project in Oman” and
- “Design of Geogrid Reinforcement and Drainage Composites for Flexible Pavement: Present Challenges in Practical Applications”. Both these presentations will be included in the Parallel Session VIII – Innovative Road Infrastructure, on November 16th
