Ministry of Road Transport and Highways decided to undertake rehabilitation\/mitigation of the landslide locations with slope protection and drainage improvement measures at the site of Helang in the hilly state of\u202f<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=WEQdUcVzkaM\"><span data-contrast=\"none\">Uttarakhand<\/span><\/a><span data-contrast=\"none\">.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;134233117&quot;:true,&quot;134233118&quot;:true,&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335551550&quot;:6,&quot;335551620&quot;:6,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:240}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">The area consisted of a 50 m stretch of fractured rockmass units having unfavorable dipping towards the valley side. The Main Central Thrust (MCT) also passed from this area making it more vulnerable and unstable. The site was on a highly active seismic Zone V. To protect this stretch,\u202f<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.maccaferri.com\/in\/solutions\/simple-drapery\/\"><span data-contrast=\"none\">simple drapery<\/span><\/a><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u202fsystem with steel wire mesh geocomposite along with 5 to 8m long top\u202f<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">anchors\u202f<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">and bottom anchors 3m long, were provided.
