Maccaferri India is sponsor of Indian Geotechnical Conference, IGC-2015
The most awaited annual event in the Indian Geotechnical fraternity will be held in the city of Pune. The “Indian Geotechnical Conference 2015” (IGC 2015), is the conference of the Indian Geotechnical Society and is an annual technical event held in the month of December since 1962.
The IGC 2015 conference theme is “Geotechnics for Infrastructure & Foundation Techniques”. The conference will focus on the advances in geotechnical engineering to meet the challenges faced in infrastructure development. Furthermore, one important highlight of the event is that all efforts made by the organizers have turned to realize an Ecofriendly and Green Conference. Maccaferri India is silver sponsor for the event.
The IGS Pune Chapter will host engineers, geologists, scientists, teachers, students and other professionals who contribute to the development and practice of geotechnical engineering. The event will feature keynote lectures, technical papers and panel discussions, workshops, technical tours, and exhibition for both participants and their partners. Different topics will be discussed including challenges in expansive soils, earthquake geotechnical engineering, environmental geotechnics, geotechnics for unsaturated soils in urban areas, landslides, disaster management and risk mitigations in urban areas and rural areas, ground improvement techniques, geotechnical applications in coastal and marine environment, practices in geotechnical consultancy, planning and high rise structures.
The event starts on December 16th with a one-day International Workshop of the International International Society for Soil Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering (ISSMGE) during which technicians, engineers and other stakeholders will host discussions with the participants.
