    To support the economic development, Bontang city started to construct Bontang City Office as its administrative facility office. It is located on a hill which consists of saturated clay. It is a reinforced embankment structure with permeable facing in the form of gabion to reduce the pore water pressure. The using of Mactex behind the gabion as filter will keep the groundwater flowing without losing soil grain. The availability of materials, easy installation and the possibility of using local manpower will increase the effectiveness and productivity of the construction work.
