Officine Maccaferri has been selected – through its Middle East subsidiary – as a supplier of sustainable structural solutions for two infrastructure projects under development in Saudi Arabia: the King Salman Park in Riyadh and the Prince Mohammed Bin Salman Stadium in Qiddiya. By taking part in two of the most challenging and technically demanding projects worldwide, the Group reinforces its role in the infrastructure development of a region that is both strategic for its business and a hub of global transformation. As flagship initiatives of Saudi Vision 2030 \u2013 the Kingdom\u2019s plan to diversify its economy and accelerate growth \u2013 these projects underscore Maccaferri\u2019s role as a strategic partner in major international ventures, positioning itself as a one-stop-shop capable of offering a complete range of integrated and environmentally friendly solutions.<\/p>\n\n

King Salman Park: the largest urban park in the world<\/strong><\/p>\n\n

In the heart of the Saudi capital, King Salman Park represents one of the country\u2019s most ambitious environmental initiatives. Set to become the world\u2019s largest urban park, it is part of the Riyadh Green Initiative and aims to regenerate degraded land, promote biodiversity, and create resilient habitats in a desert environment. In this project, commissioned by Green Riyadh Landscape Development, Maccaferri will provide for the first time across the entire Middle East the Terramesh Mineral system, an innovative technology for soil reinforcement with natural stone facing, free of external structures and capable of integrating with the surrounding environment. The landscaped ramps will reach a height of 9.1 meters and cover a total surface area of 12,100 m\u00b2. A specialized team of Maccaferri engineers will be involved in all phases of the project, from design to on-site quality control.<\/p>\n\n

Prince Mohammed Bin Salman Stadium: one of the landmark stadiums of the FIFA World Cup 2034<\/strong><\/p>\n\n

In parallel, Maccaferri has been selected to contribute to the construction of the Prince Mohammed Bin Salman Stadium in Qiddiya, set to become one of the flagship venues of the FIFA World Cup 2034, to be hosted by Saudi Arabia. The stadium, with a capacity of 47,000 seats, will rise on a spectacular 200-meter-high cliff near Riyadh and will be completed by 2029. Designed by the international firm Populous and promoted by the Qiddiya Investment Company with the support of the Saudi Public Investment Fund, the facility will be built by a joint venture between FCC and Nesma & Partners and will integrate cutting-edge technologies: a retractable roof, movable pitch, LED mega-screen, and an innovative cooling system powered by an artificial lake. Maccaferri will construct the retaining walls along the edges of the cliff, using the Terramesh system, chosen for its high structural resistance, flexibility in complex geotechnical conditions, and ability to blend with the surrounding natural environment. In this project too, the Group will ensure its direct involvement with a dedicated technical team.<\/p>\n\n
