In April Maccaferri sponsored and participated at the ground-breaking “Measure of Success Conference” that was organized by the Jordan Engineers Association
The second conference of “BIM” Building Information Modelling recently took place in Amman, Jordan on the 24-25th of April. Maccaferri Middle East was a Silver Sponsor and participant at this ground-breaking “Measure of Success Conference” for the second time consecutively. The event organized by the Jordan Engineers Association.
This year, Marwan Halasa, General Manager of Maccaferri Middle East presented “Maccaferri’s Steps Towards BIM – Soil Reinforcement and Maccaferri projects in Jordan.”
Among many other, some of the partner sponsors of this event were Arabtec, Dar Al Handasah, CCC (Consolidated International Contractor Company), ICE (Institute of Civil Engineers), and Microsoft.
The Opening Ceremony and Welcome Speeches were led by H.E. Sami Halaseh, Minister of Public Works and Housing in the representation of the Prime Minister.
What is BIM?
- BIM is a digital representation of the physical and functional characteristics of a product.
- BIM is shared knowledge
- BIM exists from the concept of structures until demolition.
Maccaferri’s aim of the conference was to provide BIM with a method for creating faster ways for its customers to use and build with its products while simultaneously engaging and building networks to contribute to the development and furthering of technology within the construction industry.
Maccaferri is looking to develop its BIM capabilities as it evolves throughout the industry, collaborating with its customers to provide the best quality services tailored to every project.
The event was a total success with over 300 engineers and managers from different consulting companies, contracting firms and local institutions attending.
Maccaferri Middle East is proud of it’s continued collaboration with the Jordan Engineers Association as well as with the representatives of the ICE in Middle East.
This year the Jordan market has become one of the most important markets for Maccaferri Middle East where Maccaferri has sold tens of thousand cubic meters of Gabions and is currently building the first Terramesh Bridge project with over 7000m2 of Facia.
