Maccaferri’s Regional Technical Manager in the Middle East will present Soil Reinforcement solutions at the Institution of Civil Engineers in the UAE in March 2016

Maccaferri Middle East will participate at the ICE Learned Event in Abu Dhabi on the 29th of March and in Dubai on the 30th of March (2016). Jayakrishnan Puthiya Veettil (Jay P. V), the Regional Technical Manager of Maccaferri Middle East will lead the event. Mr. Jay P.V is famous for having designed numerous of the world’s tallest reinforcement retaining structures such as the 40m high wall in Albania (the tallest of its kind in Europe), and the 75m high wall in Sikkim, India—an award winning project.
Last but not least Mr. Jay P.V has designed and supervised the project 32m high ParaMesh Retaining wall in Al Jais Mountain Road Project, Ras Al Khaimah, UAE which has been awarded for the category “Best Geosynthetics Project” in the 1st annual GeoME Awards 2015.
Mr. Jay P.V’s primary responsibilities are to promote Maccaferri’s technical solutions, develop designs and manage Maccaferri’s technical queries in the Gulf Region.
The presentation centres around Soil Reinforcement solutions for Geotechnical Problems faced in the Middle East. The event aims to talk about:
- the mandatory design checks that must be taken previously to installing Retaining Walls and Basal Reinforcement systems
- the typical materials used for Soil Reinforcement
- Basal Reinforcement on soft soils, piled embankments and spanning voids
- fill slopes and soil nailed slopes
- the typical materials used for these purposes
- an array of case histories of the region will also be presented for further references.
